DIVERSITY SHAPES MORE DIVERSE PROBLEMS

There are many contributing factors to gun violence in America including social and cultural aspects. America’s society is arguably the most racially, religiously, and culturally diverse country in the world. This diversity is accompanied by an underlying lack of education for understanding other groups, which leads to acts of hatred and intolerance. For example, the Charleston church shooting targeted black people, the San Bernardino shooting targeted Muslims, and Orlando gay club shooting targeted gay people. All of these instances are hate crimes that derive from a lack of education on cultural, racial, and modern topics. Some say education is the root to all problems because of this reason, but implementing new forms of education will take time to take effect, as only a young age range is susceptible to learning the information. But, without legislators and government involvement in making laws, the problem will persist because it's far easier and more reasonable to change laws than it is to change people.
